Fees and Payment

The largest part of the school’s income comes from school fees and an appropriation from the Cape Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. Good Hope High School also receives a nominal financial grant from the government. 
School fees are set yearly by the School Board, and are payable in advance in 11 monthly installments. The first installment is paid at registration and the remaining payments are due on the 7th of each month, beginning with 07 February and ending on 07 November. FEES FOR THE GRADE 12 LEARNERS ARE PAID IN 8 MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS AND HAVE TO BE SETTLED BY 07 AUGUST. A discount is given if tuition fees are paid yearly in advance. Parents with more than one child attending Good Hope High School will receive the following discounts on tuition fees only:

2ND CHILD ................................10% 
3RD CHILD ................................15% 
4TH CHILD ................................20%

Other Financial Arrangements 

1. Monthly Payments 
Tuition and boarding fees are payable in advance with the first payment on or before arrival at the school.

2. Annual Payments 
Annual payments must be made on the day the learner arrives at school.

3. Payments by Trust Accounts 
Claims from trust accounts for tuition and boarding fees must be accurately calculated. Refunds on credit balances will be paid directly to the trust and not the parent/guardian of the learner or any other party. 

4. Annual Payments for Foreign Learners 
School fees for foreign learners must be paid annually in advance or at least in two half-yearly payments. Monthly and quarterly payments are not acceptable. All bank charges with regards to foreign exchange must be carried by the parent or sponsor of the learner. 

5. Unpaid Cheques or Insufficient Funds 
All unpaid cheques and referrals for insufficient funds will attract a R70 charge on your account.

6. Overdue Accounts 
If accounts fall in arrears, learners may be asked to withdraw from the school and will not be allowed to write their quarterly controlled tests and examinations. No school reports (including Matric certificates) or testimonials will be issued unless the account is paid in full. 

7. Hostel Entertainment Fee 
There needs to be wholesome and enjoyable entertainment for the hostel learners over weekends. An entertainment fee of R500 will be charged to each hostel learner. Hostel Breakage fee R500

8. Additional Fees
Computer Applications Technology (CAT): All Grade 10 – 12 CAT learners must pay a R600 computer usage fee per year.

9. Stationery and Book list 
Each learner is supplied with a stationery and book-list. Parents must ensure that learners arrive at school with his/her preferred stationery, and with the necessary books and other equipment, as the school does not supply these items.
